![]() I definitely missed the underground Metro settings in Exodus, but it was still a great game overall! Unsurprisingly, my favorite levels in Exodus were the more linear ones □Īs far as advice goes, I'd say. There are still annoying mutants, horror elements as you explore, meaningful storylines where choices matter, etc.Īfter playing all 3 games several times, I'd put Exodus as my least favorite, but there is definitely an element of nostalgia there (2033 and Last Light were some of the first video games I ever played), so I'm massively biased. Worth playing, worth buying at discount, probably not a game I’ll play again for a while.Īside from the crafting system and the open world settings, there is not too much of a difference. The open world stuff was not anywhere near as rewarding or interesting as in most games, the vehicles are absolutely horrible to operate (and not in a “bad so that it’s tense” way, just a “bad because the mechanics suck” way)… it’s unclear at times what you can/should do, there are a number of arbitrary limitations to hold you back from figuring out a better solution to a problem, it’s buggy as hell (there’s a skybox error in Caspian that’s been present since launch), the English voice work is by and large cringeworthy…īUT it’s gorgeous, stealthing human outposts is still fun, it feels like Metro, the new crafting mechanics are totally fine though I could do without them and still enjoy the game, the story is good, the environments are all beautifully designed, and it’s stand out segments really stand out- particularly the entire ending chapter which is, at the least, near-peak Metro. It was good, and has some stand out moments, but the overall package had about as much bad as it did good in my opinion. LL isn’t far behind but there are some segments that are way too focused on human v human combat.Įxodus is last. ![]() The atmosphere of its levels just hasn’t been topped.
